Evidence for the Widespread Occurrence of Bacteria Implicated in Acute Oak Decline from Incidental Genetic Sampling

چکیده
Acute Oak Decline (AOD) is complex syndrome affecting Britain’s keystone native oak species, (Quercus robur L. and Q. petraea (Matt.) Liebl.), in some cases causing mortality within five years of symptom development. The most distinguishable weeping stem lesions, from which four species bacteria have been isolated: Brenneria goodwinii, Gibbsiella quercinecans, Lonsdalea britannica Rahnella victoriana. We do not yet know where else these exist, little known about the relationship wider leaf microbiome (phyllosphere) to acute decline. Here we investigate whether incidental evidence a large genome re-sequencing dataset could be used detect foliage, bacterial incidence co-varied with AOD status or location. leaves buds were sampled 421 trees at sites England. Whole genomic DNA samples was shot-gun sequenced short reads. Non-oak reads extracted data queried microbial databases. Reads uniquely matching AOD-associated genomes found present on all included active historic lesions without symptoms. abundance did differ between tree health categories but among sites. conclude that may members normal microbiome, whose presence sufficient cause

Taxonomy and identification of bacteria associated with acute oak decline
Acute oak decline (AOD) is a relatively newly described disorder affecting native oak species in Britain. Symptomatic trees are characterised by stem bleeds from vertical fissures, necrotic lesions in the live tissue beneath and larval galleries of the two spotted oak buprestid (Agrilus biguttatus). Several abiotic and biotic factors can be responsible for tree death, however the tissue necrosi...

Metabarcoding of Bacteria Associated with the Acute Oak Decline Syndrome in England
Outbreaks of acute oak decline (AOD) have been documented in England from 2006. Both species of native oaks (Quercus robur and Quercus petraea) are affected. To complement isolation efforts for identification of putative causative biotic agents and increase our understanding of bacteria associated with oak tissue, five sites in England were chosen for this study. Samples of outer bark, inner ba...
متن کاملDetermination of suitable sampling methods for study of canopy cover in the Oak Forest
To detection of suitable sampling method to study tree canopy cover in the northern Zagros forest, Baneeh region forest, Kurdistan province, and west of Iran was selected. 40 square sample plots one hectare (100×100 m) were selected and perfect inventoried. In every sample plot the position of tree, kind of species and two diameter of crown (m) were recorded. To study of canopy cover different ...
